More than twenty Chris Potter fans from all over the country came to cheer on Mr. Potter, who was in prime jokester form for this event. From climbing up the boards after the arena mascot, to throwing the gloves off to assist supermodel Kim Alexis in a round of on-ice fisticuffs, this was an hilarious and high scoring game.
Yes, it's true - once again CP proved himself to be the best celebrity player on the ice (memorable spousal quote: "He really can play!" Well, duh.). Former North Star/Dallas Star Neil Broten was by far the best former NHL-er (right, Joan? *g*). CP received the award for the #2 most valuable player with two assists (he didn't receive the #1 award - it must have been rigged! ;-). His all-star team won 9 to 8 on an OT shoot-out goal scored by Ms. Alexis (speaking of "rigged").
After the game Chris spent hours signing autographs and posing for pictures. Exhausted as he was, he still took time on his way out to cheer up a very sad seven year old, who was sure she had missed seeing him. For a complete game report see the Chris Potter Official Fan Club newsletter.
Chris,
Neil Broten and Rene Robert share a laugh.
A
wave to the fans, a moment's reflection, and then...
On
the move, a player to be reckoned with.
